Carl Henning Reschke works on systemic social evolutionary processes, seen as adaptation and learning processes leading to growth of complexity and knowledge. The structural basis of these process are evolutionary principles working on the organisation of information. These processes and principles should be similar through the layers of organisation of the world, with specific differentiation for each layer or level. His focus is both on developing the theoretical foundation and its practical application - mainly in the areas of business, economics and social psychology.

He argues that a social evolutionary paradigm is useful for issues of social change, and history to be studied by a combination of case studies, mathematical models, historical analyses and statistical, empirical studies.
