We are particularly seeking cosmologists, biologists, philosophers, systems theorists, complexity theorists, and other scholars interested in exploring models, hypotheses, questions and speculations relating to the evolution and development of the universe as a system. Such topics as non-naturalistic orthogenesis or teleology, intelligent design, supernaturalism, theology, science and spirituality convergence are outside the scope of our community. Hypotheses of directionality (systemic trajectory), orthogenesis (systemic improvement) and teleology (systemic purpose) may be discussed but only from a testable and naturalistic or developmental, not a supernaturalistic perspective. Transcendentalist (future of information, intelligence, mind or consciousness) and moral-ethical philosophical hypotheses and prescriptions are fine, but should strive to remain grounded in known or proposed natural (physical, chemical, biological, cultural, technological) processes, and to explore empirical/measurable/testable implications of the precepts. Please see Themes and Questions for any other questions about the scope of the EDU community.
